UNG Summer: Nursing in Peru

Students will spend one week in Cusco, Peru, providing healthcare to an underserved population. Students will have the privilege of working with local health care providers and will also work with clinic staff to visit nearby villages to provide medical and nursing care. Opportunities for education focused on prevention and wellness are abundant.

CerviCusco is a Peruvian non-profit organization committed to improving the health and quality of life of Peruvians living in the Andes Mountains. Their dedicated staff provide many health services including family medicine and women’s health with particular expertise in cervical and breast cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis/early detection and treatment. They work to ensure that all Peruvians, including those with limited or no economic resources, have access to high quality health education and care.
