Program Overview

Spend your summer living and learning in Florence, an Italian city rooted in artistic tradition! Designed for students from various academic backgrounds, the Summer in Florence program provides the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the cradle of the Renaissance.

When class is in session, you will enroll in your choice of classes at CIEE Florence across subjects like history, art, marketing, and food culture, all delivered in English or Italian. You can also choose to work on developing or improving your Italian language skills by enrolling in a language course.

  • Visits to significant Florence locations, such as the Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, and more 
  • Visits to a smaller historical city in Tuscany such as Lucca, Siena, or Volterra 
  • Learning to prepare a typical, seasonal Florentine dish 
  • Visits to a traditional working vineyard and olive grove, including an in-depth description of wine and oil production, promotion, and distribution
