Program Overview

Your CIEE Summer Global Internship program in Rome lasts 8 weeks and features two key components: A full-time internship with an international organization (approximately 30-40 hours per week) and an internship seminar. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Italian culture. Live, learn, and work in Rome!

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Rome will open doors for you to explore Italy's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.      

Samples of past excursions and activities: 

  • Step back in time with a day trip to Pompeii, the ancient city frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
  • Visit an Artificial Intelligence (AI) exhibition and have a round table on the future of AI in today’s workplaces and the future of work
  • Discover the artistic heart of Italy with a day trip to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance
