Chance of Placement
Each program site has different chances of placement. This information will be very important as students apply for programs, and it can be found on the individual program pages.
Program Dates
Dates vary from site to site. Students need to be aware that there may be differences in academic calendars from program to program. For example, one institution's fall semester may run September-January, not allowing UNG students to return in time for the spring semester. In this case, a spring semester exchange or a full academic year program might be the better option.
Programs
Almost every field of study is represented on one ISEP program or another. The key for students is to be open minded about location options in order to find the program that best fits their academic needs.
Courses taught in English
A wide selection of programs are taught in English by many institutions. These programs vary from compact one-semester programs at the undergraduate level to full Master's programs and are not dependent on knowledge of the language of the host country.
Housing and Meals
ISEP students are housed in student residence halls or in private accommodation, depending on the site. Similarly, meals may be provided via a campus meal plan or a stipend to cover the cost of meals.
Orientation
A pre-departure orientation session is required of all students before they study abroad. This orientation is given by the Center for Global Engagement staff. Additionally, on-site orientation will occur in the host country. This orientation may include everything from airport pickup, to cultural nuances of the host country, to registering for classes.
ISEP-Exchange programs allow students to participate in reciprocal exchanges with students at ISEP member institutions worldwide, while paying their home university tuition. Students attending US universities that are ISEP-Exchange members are eligible to apply for these programs at other international ISEP-Exchange member universities. Chances of placement vary by location.
